Enjoy the view
One of my many favourite places in the South Downs is above Steyning Bowl. Looking east there is a great view of Upper Beeding and Bramber, and beyond, Windmill Hill, Truleigh Hill and the escarpment. Being able to get to this place quickly and frequently means I have good opportunities to record its essence, in particular in early morning light. On the South Downs Way adjacent to the Monarch’s Way above Steyning Bowl there is a memorial bench dedicated to Gary and David Landale and below the dedication there is the inscription : “Enjoy the view”. This provided the inspiration for this short series and I would like to thank Peter and Anne Landale for their agreement to use the image of this bench and these words as a title for this series. These images were captured within a short distance of the bench and I hope they do justice to the memory of Mr and Mrs Landale’s sons. Maybe one could imagine ……. ?
