Rapeseed and poppies
The land use around the area of the South Downs where I live in Upper Beeding is substantially arable farming and as a landscape photographer I am continually fascinated by the huge vistas and splashes of colour of the fields in various states throughout the seasons. This selection of images concentrates on the effect of swathes of poppies that appeared in a field near Whitelot Bottom in the heart of the South Downs north of Mile Oak, in June 2011. The land use in this area at this time resulted in an amazingly effervescent display which is described in this selection of images.
